▶ Daejeon Metropolitan City
The city is located in the center of South Korea : 167.3 km from Seoul , 294 km from Busan. It is an important place where traffic diverges into two major expressways, the Gyungbu Expressway going to the east and the Honam Expressway to the west. It becomes the hub of national traffic both in name and reality, after the rapid transit railway started operation in April, 2004.
- The Deajon Expo Park
The Expo Park , with its focus on science and the future, enhances the consciousness of the importance of science in many young people's minds and upholds the spirit of '93 Expo.

In the park, there are many popular pavilions, such as the simulation theatre, the IMAX dome theatre, the tower of great light, the body world, the magic plaza, the aquaresort, the energy pavilion, the electric energy pavilion, the nature & life pavilion.
- Kumdori Land

"Thrills and Fun! Welcome to Kumdori Land!" It is located next to EXPO Science Park. The National Science Museum and Daedeok Science town are nearby. There are amusement rides, such as Blizzard and Viking, and a swimming pool, four-season slide, and a stage for performances. It is one of the largest entertainment parks in the central area of the country. It is open 365 days a year until late

at night.
- Gayang Park

Gayang Park, a forest park, is located in the eastern part of Daejeon. It is divided into two main areas: Uam Sajeok Park, and Central Square located at the Daejeon Overpass of the Gyeongbu Expressway.

The citizens of Daejeon and also many tourists visit Uam Sajeok Park to see its beautiful dense forest

Public school positions (Elementary, Middle & High school)
- Starting Date: The end of August, 2010
- Salary: 1.8-2.85mil won
   (Depends on Qualification, click the pay scale )
- Working Hours: 9am-5pm
- Teaching Hours: 22 hours per week
- 300,000 won Settlement pay upon teacher is arrival
- Round trip airfare : One way reimbursed upon teacher's arrival (1.3million KRW) and the other will
  be paid (1.3million KRW) when you complete your contract.Even though you are in Korea, airfare will
  be paid (1.3million KRW) when you start working.
- 100% Severance pay
- 21 working days paid vacation a year( include weekend) and all Korean national holidays
- 50% medical insurance, 50% national pension plan supported
- Full furnished single housing or housing allowance (400,000 won per month)

  • A Completed EPIK Application Form < Click for downloading the application
    (including a passport size photo)
  • Signed and sealed recommendation letter from academic or professional sources
    - Must include the name, status, address, contact number and signature of the
    reference.)
  • Copy of diploma(s) or Original proof of enrollment
    - should be attached with an apostille or with verification issued by official Korean institutions such as the Korean Council for University Education (KCUE); applicants from a country that does not have an agreement with the Apostille Convention (such as Canada), should attach a notary from the Korean Consulate/Embassy in your country or verification issued by KCUE
    - Original proof of enrollment must show completion of at least two academic years
  • Three Original sealed transcripts
    - 1 sealed transcript sent to woknplay. 2 sealed transcripts to take with you to the Korean Consulate/Embassy when you apply for the E2visa.
  • Criminal record check with Apostille stamp
    - Should be done on a local level or above and should be verified by an apostille
    - Applicants from Canada or other countries that do not have an agreement with the Apostille Convention should submit a criminal record check notarized by the Korean Consulate/Embassy; however, Korean residents who have a criminal record check from one of the foreign diplomatic offices in Korea are exempt from the apostille verification process
    - Verification should be issued by official institutions (of the applicant's government in his/her country or by foreign diplomatic offices in Korea) and must have been issued within 6 months at most before submitting all the required documents.
  • Copy of passport photo page
  • (If applicable) Copies of certification (teacher certification, TESOL, etc)
  • (If applicable) Proof of teaching/work experience
  • Copy of citizenship or a copy of legal residence certificate(for Korean nationals)
    - If English is not your first language (born in a non-English speaking country), then you must be able to provide proof of English education beginning from junior high school level.
